Simulation-based Exposure and Skills Practice for the Challenge of Clinical Care

Virtual Reality

Clinical Encounters: Medical School

The Clinical Encounters: Medical School simulation prepares medical students for typical challenges in the medical environment. Students practice coping strategies to improve resilience.

Value Proposition:

Physician burnout is an issue for both providers and patients. In simulated clinic scenarios, future doctors become familiar with the challenges they will face in the medical environment, learn to recognize poor coping strategies, and develop resilience to the stresses of clinical practice.  In VR, they experience the outcomes of a poor choice in a safe, fictional environment. Being prepared, they are better able to provide high-quality care.

Audience:

Medical students, faculty, or healthcare providers who support or counsel medical students

Platform:

in VR via Oculus Rift and Quest
